***NEWS*** Amanda Ross is now volunteering at the Oakville Humane Society! Currently volunteering my time to help the many stray and abandoned cats by helping them socialize with humans so that they will be able to move on to their forever home and be part of a loving family! It's such a good cause and I'm so excited that I am lucky enough to be a part of this amazing organization.
| Kids In The Kitchen Organized by the Junior League Of Hamilton-Burlington New Member Committee (which I was a part of). It was a full day of teaching kids how to cook healthy meals with Chris Haworth, Chef from Spencer's On The Waterfront, fitness with Matt Green, owner of Freestyle Fitness, as well as Grow Green, Hamilton Fire Department, and Nutrition Information. | Wiggle-Waggle Walk-A-Thon A great animal-lovers event where people with or without an animal walk round Bayfront Park to raise money that will go towards helping to pay the cost of providing caring for the neglected, injured and orphaned animals housed at the Hamilton-Burlington (Zero-Euthanasia charity) SPCA's Dartnall Road Animal Centre. The day includes vendor booths, and new fuzzy friends! |
| | CIBC Run For The Cure - Support Amanda The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is Canada's largest single day, volunteer-led fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, and education and awareness programs. On Sunday, October 4th, 2009, Run, Walk and Give Generously. | Rebuilding New Orleans With the Junior League Of Hamilton-Burlington, I have had the chance to go down to New Orleans in 2006 (with over 700 women from across the world) and again in 2008 to put my painting, cleaning, scraping, etc skills to work to help rebuild the still devasted city from the storm Katrina. We are already planning another trip in 2010, I'm so looking forward to it! |
